A Word From Our Principal
I would like to thank all the parents who attended the Kids Online Parent Cybersafety workshop yesterday. The online platforms our children come across daily can be quite daunting, and your participation in the workshop marks the first crucial step in ensuring their safety. Your dedication to understanding and addressing these challenges is key to creating a secure online environment for our school community.
Next week our teachers will guide their classes through the Cybersafety agreements, which will subsequently be distributed to families who were unable to attend last night's meeting. I think it is extremely important for you to take the time to discuss this contract as a family.
Please be reminded that until both parents and children have signed and returned the Cybersafety forms, students will be unable to use any devices at school. Your cooperation in completing and returning these forms promptly is greatly appreciated.
On a different note, I would like to bring to your attention an incident that occurred on Friday. Extreme weather conditions affected our school as the children were being dismissed creating a potentially hazardous situation in the carpark area. Flying debris from Mitre 10's roof posed a risk, prompting our staff to carefully assess the situation.
In the event of similar circumstances in the future, we have established a procedure to ensure the safety of our students and parents. If extreme weather occurs at home time, we will promptly move everyone to the school hall until conditions outside are safe. I kindly ask for your cooperation and listen to staff instructions during such situations to ensure everyone's well-being.
Thank you for your continued support and commitment to the safety of our school community.
